Christmas Opening Hours

Join us at the Hermit this Christmas and New Year. We’ll have a roaring fire every day, a fine selection of beers, wines and spirits and some great food options for you.

In the run up to Christmas our new Hermit kitchen team will be serving up the new lunch and dinner menus Wednesday to Sunday up to and including Christmas eve. Then on Christmas day, make sure you time your walk to arrive at The Hermit between 12-3 for a festive beverage or three!

Then, starting Boxing day, its The Hermit Christmas Curry Kitchen Takeover! We have Peacock Indian Street food back from the 26th to 3rd serving from our kitchen with a perfect alternative to turkey sandwiches. Full details below:

December 1st up to Christmas Eve: The new Hermit lunch (Wednesday - Friday 12-3) and dinner menu, (Wednesday - Friday 5-8.30, Saturday 12-8.30 and Sunday 12-6pm)

Christmas Eve: 12-11pm, if the ale is flowing we will stay open later!

Christmas Day: 12-3pm for Christmas Drinks.

Boxing Day: 12-9pm, Christmas curry takeover! Indian Street Food 12-8pm

December 27th-30th: 12-11pm, Christmas curry takeover. Indian Street Food 12-8pm

New Years Eve: 12-12:30am, Christmas curry takeover. Indian Street Food 12-8pm

New Years Day: 12-11pm, Christmas curry takeover. Indian Street Food 12-8pm

January 2nd: 12-10pm, including the “The End of the Year Quiz” at 8pm. An Ed and Christine quiz duet! Christine will be handing the quiz master baton to Ed for a few months as she heads south for the winter.

January 3rd: 12-11pm, last day of our Christmas curry takeover. Indian Street Food 12-8pm
