“Make sure you have good wine”

“Make sure you have good wines, because they didn’t used to have!” - sage advice we received from a neighbour when we were renovating The Hermit.

We listened and went to Ilkley’s independent wine supplier Martinez to curate our wine list.

Some highlights by the glass are the Sauvignon Blanc False Bay from South Africa, a Tenute Gavi de Gavi, a Chilean Pinot Noir, and a Spanish Rioja that punches well above its weight

For sunny days the delightful Bellefontaine French Rosé is unbeatable, whilst a glass of the Tenute Fiorebelli PROSECCO is absolutely fantastic and for celebrations there is always the classic bottle of Bollinger Champagne.

Recently we have added ‘Conviviale’, a fantastic ripe and textural Pinot Grigio with apple aromas and hints of honey and peach AND ‘The Montes Classic Series Merlot’ - bright ruby red in colour with an intense aromatic complexity.

And by the bottle the L'Ormarine 'Duc de Morny' Picpoul is a classic white and on the red side the Malbec and Shiraz are both superb.
