Keep it simple

You won’t believe the agonising that went on over the new signs at The Hermit.

We mocked up red ones, green ones, cream ones. We added text saying ‘dogs welcome’, ‘walkers welcome’, ‘warm welcome’. We tried ‘traditional ales’, ‘real ales’, ‘fine wines’. We even included ‘stunning views’, ‘beer garden’ and ‘log fire’.

But in the end it was no nonsense Ed who nailed it, ‘The Hermit - Free House’. “That is bang on for me”, he said.

Huge thanks to local company Ice Signs who offered sage advice, produced beautiful signs for a great price and then came up as a family to install them on the Sunday before we opened.
